SPRING BREAK

Alyssa, I and Shirin

Before Spring Break started, we had a field trip from our french class. We went to the University of Delaware to a organized french day. In the first picture are Alyssa, Shirin and I. Shirin is another exchange student from Germany ( Nähe Göppingen ) and is my best friend here. Alyssa is with me in french class since my first day of high school, so we got pretty close in this year. She sits next to me in french class.

Then I took this picture with probably my best guy friend here in the USA. His name is Brody and well he's pretty cool.

On the first day of Spring Break Martine ( the foreign exchange student from Norway ) came over to my house and because it was really sunny, we decided to take pictures. It was pretty much fun.

On the second day of my Spring Break I decided to take a walk behind our back yard. It was so incredible pretty. Next time when I go for a walk there, I'll wear rain boots, so I can go farer.

On Eastern I got surprised by an easter basket. I really didn't expect anything, so it really surprised me! I got a water cup and a coffee cup, so I can bring coffee to school. I also got chocolate and really yummy  "marshmallow-chicken" aka beebs.

For easter breakfast I got really delicious waffles with sausages.

 Easter-Selfie-Alarm!

For Easter Dinner we went over to Amy's house in Odessa. We ate Mac n' Cheese, Ham, Asparagus and cake. I had a lot of fun with the kids.

The next day was a sunny one again!! I even got a sun burn and I could sit outside after dinner until it got dark!

Two days later we went Prom Dress shopping and I found this lovely dress!

At my German House we have a Forsythia bush in our front yard and every year around Easter, it starts to bloom really pretty. Well here at my American House Chris has at least 15 Forsythia bushes in a row. Our back yard is sooo yellow right now!

At Wednesday we had a Girls Day. So Chris, Amy, Jenn, Maura and I went to the Tanger Outlets close to the beach for shopping. It was a fun day! Thanks for taking me.

On two days I was helping Chris with working in the back yard, because she wanted a garden ( Beet mit vor allem Gemüse ) and a little pond for her fish. So we were moving rock .

Jenn's birthday was at Thursday, so I baked her a German blackforest - cherry cake ( Schwarzwälder-Kirsch Torte). It was really stressful, because there are so many ingredients that you can't find in America! But it was fun though.

At our last family Dinner, I had the best steak in my entire life ! Thanks Kurt.

Since I moved into my new Host Family, I feel like I changed a lot. Of course I still have Ups and Downs, because that's how a foreign exchange students life feels like, but when I have Ups now,  I feel 100% Happy and that's most of the time. I had really hard times, but I feel like these times are over now. It's still not always easy, but it's getting better every day.

Sadly I still don't have a picture of my host family, but hopefully I'll be able to post one soon!

After I was in my new host family about 2 weeks, I made Cheese Spätzla with Cucumber - Corn Salad.

One more Picture of Stella.
Finally the Winter is over and a few days ago I even could wear shorts !!! I'm so happy. Every time the sun comes out, it makes me happier. It just gives me a great feeling.

One day my norwegian friend Martine came over to my house. In the last time I got really close friends with her.

Sitting outside on the deck for the first real sun of the year.

This is my new Home from the view of the back yard.
My room is on the second floor, the second window from the right side.

I was totally shocked when I saw last fall a deer when we were hiking and that it didn't run away even though we were really close. That was the first time ever that I saw a deer this close.

Well it gets better. Now I have deer in my back yard !!! My Host mom Chris feeds them daily and puts a camera on, so if something in the back yard moves, it will take pictures. So anyways, sometimes we have 6 deer in our back yard. The picture below is taken in my bedroom at an afternoon. Behind our yard is something like a field. It's owned by the state, so hunting and fishing isn't allowed there. Although there are about 7 ponds in this field and behind it is a part forest.

In my last post I was showing pictures of the three cats and now I finally took pictures of the dogs.

This cutie here is called Wyatt and he likes begging for food. He's from the height the smallest dog of the three. For my opinion  it is the most pretty one of these three, but of course all of them are adorable.

Wyatt again
This Lady here is called Ellie and she adores playing with a tennis ball. If you would keep throwing her ball, she would run for it until she is totally exhausted and can't move anymore. At some days when you threw it too many times, she has problems getting up the stairs, because she is so sore.

Echo is the head of the pack. He is really lovable and Ellie licks his face every single day.  Echo has cancer, so he gets special food ( like all three of them, but it's the most important for him ) and has to take medicin. All three of them are about 10 years old.

I always wanted to be a big sister and now I finally am one. The Kids in the pictures below are Maura, Andrew and Carsen and they are my host nephews and host niece.
Every weekend we have Family Dinner, so I can see all of them. Maura and Andrew are the children from Jenn and John and Carsen is the child from Amy and Kyle.
I truly fall in love with these children.

Right now, I am enjoying my time here a lot.  I love sitting on the deck, enjoying the sun and watching out of our back yard. It's so unbelievable pretty here!
Every morning Chris and I are driving to school together  and most of the time we take the country road and it's just so pretty.

Kurt and Chris gave me the chance to look at things from another point of view.
And it changed my opinion and mood a lot into a positiv way.

Oh and btw, I got blonde highlights!
