New Year's Eve

For Silvester we went to Pennsylvania to the "Mountains". I understand something else if you say "Mountains", but I guess, that's a little different in Germany. So the car ride needed two hours and after it we went tubing ( Da rutscht man in einem großen Reifen den Hang runter). It was really fun!

After we went to the hotel, we got changed and then we went to the indoor swimming pool. Because it was a little too cold for me, I was just staying in the whirlpool.

After that I took a shower and got ready for New Year's Eve or how we call it in Germany "Silvester". I also did my little host sister Saige's make up. 

Then we went to a restaurant for dinner. We played a game in the hotel room from my host parent's friends and watched TV. At Midnight we wished us a happy new year.

Since I learned how Americans celebrate (Thanksgiving, Christmas,..) I was pretty disappointed of New Year's Eve, because we even celebrate it bigger in Germany than in America. So I really missed German Silvester and got a little home sick.

Sadly the winter break is for me over now and I have to go to school on Monday.
