Sweet 16 ?

For my 16th birthday I didn't want a party, so we went to Philadelphia to a game center (it's something like a casino, but it's for the whole family).

That was the sight from the parking house. It's right next to a harbor and this pretty bridge!

So then in the Game center there was a really big bar, but we didn't drink something from there or ate something there. We ate at a restaurant.

This shows some games there. So it works a little different than a real Casino. At the beginning you can buy a card that looks like a credit card and you have a certain number of credits on it. Every game "coasts" another amount of credits. It normally coasts between 4 and 9 Credits. And if you win a game you get a certain amount of tickets. With all your tickets together you can get at the gift shop at the end of the day a gift. I think thats pretty cool and we should really have that in Germany too! By the way we were there like 15 minutes and my little host sister won at her first game the checkpot, so she got 1,000 tickets at one game!

Me, Ashley and Saige.

So that was my desert on my actual birthday. It's the same cookie dough than Donuts and it's pretty much the same, but smaller.
Two days later when I came home from cheer practice, i got surprised with cupcakes and my host family sung "happy birthday" for me which made me happy. And the cupcakes were really good. You missed something!

In Germany 16 is the age when you first can buy alcohol. With 16 you can buy wine, sparkling wine and the most important one in German: BEER!

Sadly I couldn't enjoy alcohol on my 16th birthday. But I had anyway a lot of fun with my host family even though I missed my family.
So I could enjoy a great 16th Birthday even without alcohol.
( That doesn't mean I won't celebrate my birthday as soon as I'm back in Germany :P )
